Dispel Dice at BookCon! 12 Romantasy Dice Sets and Lucky Bags you’ll find at our booth
Good storytelling is at the heart of every great tabletop roleplaying game, which is why so many of our fans are also avid readers. At Dispel, every set of dice we create is designed to help players feel more immersed in the stories they’re telling at the table. This year, we’ll be attending BookCon for the first time, and we’re excited to be bringing our best romantasy-themed dice to the event to share with our long-time supporters as well as new trinket collectors. You can find Dispel Dice at BookCon on April 18-19, at booth 543.
In the meantime, keep reading for a sneak peek at all the romantasy Dice Sets and Lucky Bags we’re bringing with us to the event, and how to choose the best dice for you based on your favorite reads! We’ll be stocking a combination of available dice, as well as legacy sets we’re bringing back exclusively for this event!
If you loved The Shepherd King by Rachel Gillig, you’ll love Ancient Wood

In The Shepherd King duology by Rachel Gillig, main character Elspeth traps a mercurial monster in her head to keep her safe on her journey to save her land from an infecting magic. These teal resin dice crawling with tree branches perfectly evoke the dark magic Elspeth might expect to encounter on a dark forest road… If you’re looking for a set of dice to pair with your favorite gothic romantasy read, Ancient Wood will help you find some luck on your way.
If you loved Powerless by Lauren Roberts, you’ll love Divination

The future is already written, but Ordinary Paedyn Gray must pose as an Elite Psychic after she is thrown into The Purging Trials after saving a prince’s life. Can this Silver Savior survive the Trials without revealing her lack of power? Only the future can tell. Roll Divination, and maybe these rich burgundy jewels carrying Tarot motifs will reveal the answers you’ve been looking for.
If you loved Heartless by Marissa Meyer, you’ll love Down the Rabbit Hole

Who doesn’t love a fairytale retelling with a villainous origin story? Long before Alice came to Wonderland, the infamous Queen of Hearts was just a princess who fell in love with a man below her station. This intense forbidden love romance is all about how fate and madness can make it impossible to define your own destiny. Down the Rabbit Hole gives you a peek into the princess’ future in Wonderland.
If you loved The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith, you’ll love Dreams of Fae

Everyone knows that making a bargain with a magical being isn’t a good idea, but sometimes the deal is just too good to pass up. In The Rose Bargain, England is under the control of an immortal fae queen, who gives each of her subjects one wish in return for their loyalty. Our main character, Ivy, enters into a bargain to compete for the Prince’s hand in marriage. If you’re looking for Regency-era intrigue, glittering balls and a gorgeous London season, this book and a set of Dreams of Fae dice will set you in good standing.
If you loved Blood Orange by Karina Halle, you’ll love Exsanguinated

We like our vampire stories dark and bloody, and if you feel the same, Blood Orange is the perfect gothic Dracula retelling. Dahlia is a vampire hunter who goes undercover at an Italian music academy to slay Professor Valtu Aminoff, a real historical figure believed to be a notorious vampire at the time. Neither of them know that they have been destined to find each other in every life. The Exsanguinated Dice Set is the perfect accompaniment to this very dark and dangerous liaison.
Exsanguinate is available online at Dispel Dice.
If you loved Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan, you’ll love Faerie Gate

A retelling of the legend of the Chinese moon goddess, Chang'e. In this tale, her daughter goes on an epic mid-autumn-festival inspired journey to free her from the Celestial Emperor’s spell. This high fantasy adventure features surprising romances, mythical legends and the sacrifices of choice. Conjuring images of a full moon on a vast blanket of stars, the Faerie Gate Dice Set shows us just how the night sky can feel like freedom for us, but is a prison for others.
If you loved The Tapestry Trilogy by Chris Humphreys, you’ll love Hunt of the Unicorn

This book series and our dice set are both inspired by and feature motifs from The Unicorn Tapestries, currently displayed at The Met Cloisters in New York City. The set of seven tapestries show a wild unicorn hunt and this mythical creature’s fight for survival. At the beginning of The Tapestry Trilogy, main character Elayne falls through this exact tapestry into a mythical realm where the danger starts to become very real, especially the danger of falling in love with a former tyrant king…
We’ll have a limited number of legacy Hunt of the Unicorn Lucky Bags at BookCon. If you can’t make it, you can still get The Hunt of the Unicorn Dice Set online at Dispel Dice.
If you loved The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, you’ll love Into the Feywild

Dazzling, shifting, mesmerizing… The High Court of Faerie can seem like a wonderful place to get trapped. But within that bubble of beauty is also treachery, deception and political intrigue that runs deep. If you want to join the Folk of the Air like our heroine, Jude, you need to face the wicked Prince and seduce him to save herself. And if it’s glamor you’re looking for, there’s no better set of dice than Into the Feywild.
We’ll have a limited number of legacy Into the Feywild Lucky Bags at BookCon.
If you loved Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree, you’ll love Rosamund’s Blend

Good fantasy doesn’t always need to be epic, dangerous and sprawling. It can be cozy and comforting too! Legends and Lattes tells the story of an adventure-weary orc who aims to open the first coffee shop in the land. Travelers come and go, and one of them may even stay… There’s nothing a dice roll loves more than low stakes, and that’s what you’ll get with this book. As for Rosamund’s Blend; it might not be coffee, but it sure is still a cozy way to keep adventurers awake.
Rosamund’s Blend is available online at Dispel Dice.
If you loved The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon, you’ll love Tears of the Witch

When an orphan discovers she can hold a forbidden magic thought to have been wiped out, she draws the attention of a mighty Prince on the battlefield. In this burning enemies to lovers epic, our heroes begin tentatively working together to create a new kind of magic, where the shadow and the light come together harmoniously. The swirling, iridescent liquid cores of Tears of the Witch show how beautiful light and shadow can be when they play nice.
If you loved The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent, you’ll love Trina’s Lily

The gritty, dark fantasy vibe that defines Elden Ring can be difficult to compare, but if you’re a fan, Carissa Broadbent’s world in The Serpent and the Wings of Night comes pretty close. It tells the story of Oraya, a human living in a vampire-ruled world void of compassion. In order to win a legendary tournament hosted by the Goddess of Death, Oraya must form a dangerous alliance with a mystery rival. Gaze into the depths of Trina’s Lily for some respite against the bloodthirsty intrigue and blossoming attraction in this grim romantasy.
If you loved The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, you’ll love Vanitas

A colorless circus that is only ever open at night becomes the sparring ground of two magical protégés working to prove which of their teacher’s methods works best. What begins as a competition in magical feats that make the circus famous, begins to evolve into something more. Our two heroes, who have never met, begin creating magic to dazzle one another instead. Will their distant love fall against the vanities of their teachers, or will it transcend the game, the circus and death itself? Vanitas is a set of black dice with motifs of pleasure and death, the exact balance of which our heroes are striving for.
If you loved Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, you’ll love Luna Moth

Is there anything more lovely than the soft flutter of wings? Our heroine in Strange the Dreamer can conjure moths as an extension of her own consciousness. She uses them to enter people’s dreams to gather information and send messages. When she enters the dreams of someone who can see her there, everything begins to change. You can also use the power of moths to send messages when the sun goes down. Whisper your wish, roll Luna Moth, and let them carry your words into the night.
We’ll have a limited number of legacy Luna Moth Lucky Bags available exclusively at BookCon.
We can’t wait to see you at the Dispel Dice booth (543) at BookCon on April 18-19!
